Beirut files urgent UN complaint against Zionist occupation entity

BEIRUT, Aug. 20 (YPA) – Lebanon’s caretaker government, Hassan Diab, on Friday asked Foreign Minister to instruct Lebanon’s delegate to the United Nations to file a complaint against the Zionist occupation entity, whose warplanes launched a new aggression targeting Syrian territory from Lebanese airspace.

The Presidency of the Lebanese Council of Ministers said in a statement that Diab asked the acting Foreign Minister, Zina Aker, to instruct Lebanon’s delegate to the United Nations “to file an urgent complaint against the Zionist enemy, which violated Lebanese sovereignty, endangered the safety of civil aviation and directly threatened the lives of civilian passengers, Lebanese and foreigners.”

Diab stressed that the Zionist enemy’s continued violation of Lebanon’s sovereignty constitutes a direct threat to UN Resolution 1701.”

He called on the United Nations and the international community to condemn the aggression of the occupying entity and to take measures that preserve Lebanese sovereignty and protect international resolution 1701.

Syrian military source announced that “the Zionist enemy carried out, at approximately 23.03 pm on Thursday, an air aggression with rockets from the direction southeast of Beirut, targeting some points in the vicinity of the city of Damascus and the vicinity of Homs city.”
