Death toll of Algeria’s fire rises to 42

SANAA, Aug. 11 (YPA) – Algerian Prime Minister Ayman Ben Abdelrahman has announced that at least 25 soldiers and 17 civilians have been killed in forest fires east of the capital.

A number of other soldiers were injured while fighting fires in the bush in the Kabyle region .

According to meteorologists, the temperature on Tuesday reached 46 degrees Celsius in the North African country, which is also suffering from water shortages.

Fires have caused considerable destruction to many countries in the Mediterranean region in recent days, with large fires in Turkey, Greece, Lebanon and Cyprus.
