SANAA, Aug. 10 (YPA) – The United States of America announced on Tuesday the imposition of sanctions on Russian, Lebanese, Syrian and Iraqi entities.
The US administration imposed sanctions on the research and production institution Pulsar, the aircraft rental company “Greenlight Moscow” and the Russian “Asia Invest”, as Washington believes that they violate US legislation prohibiting the proliferation of weapons of mass destruction in relation to Iraq, North Korea, Syria and the United States.
The administration published the notice in the Federal Register today, while the document shows that the decision was made on July 29.
Moreover, the Asa’ib Ahl al-Haq military movement that is part of the pro-government forces in Iraq, Kata’ib Hezbollah in Iraq, Hezbollah in Lebanon, and two trading companies from Syria have been blacklisted.
The notice said that on July 29, the US government implemented the measures authorized in the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Act, noting that “the restrictions apply to any successor, sub-unit, or subordinate” of the targeted entities.
The notice stated that “the sanctions are valid for two years, but this time they can be eased or worked to end by the US Secretary of State.” Washington did not explain what exactly led to these sanctions.
It is worth noting that on July 28, the US Treasury Department included 8 individuals and 10 entities in the sanctions list as part of the “counter-terrorism and Syria-related measures,” it said.
