Abdulsalam reveals details of initiative presented to Omani delegation

SANAA, Aug. 10 (YPA) – The head of national delegation, Mohammed Abdulsalam, Monday, affirmed that Sayyed Abdulmalik presented the Omani delegation with a fair and just initiative that would achieve the conditions for peace.

“In response to Sayeed Abdulmalik’s request, we presented the Marib initiative during Omani delegation’s visit to Sanaa.” Abdulsalam said.

He pointed out that Sayyed Abdulmalik presented a fair and just initiative to the Omani delegation to be implemented in conjunction with the humanitarian file as a priority, pointing out that the initiative takes into account the interests of the people of Marib first.

Abdulsalam indicated that initiative was presented with nine points and fulfill the conditions of peace. He added, “We are still open for Omani mediation, and it is still making commendable efforts.” He explained that the initiative stipulates not to attack citizens and to restart the gas station and pointed to the situation of fuel ships’ revenues in Hodeidah.

The head of national delegation stressed the need to create a joint administration from the people of Marib Governorate, to maintain security and stability, and to expel Al-Qaeda and Daesh elements. The initiative requires commitment to share with other provinces oil and gas and to repair the Safer – Ras Issa pipeline.

He noted that the initiative also requires ensuring freedom of movement, releasing all kidnapped people, compensating those affected, and returning the displaced from Marib.

Abdulsalam stressed that United Nations only works in context of the countries of aggression and works within the allowed margin.

He pointed out that “the problem is not in changing a person or not. The problem is that countries of aggression do not have a decision to stop the aggression and establish peace.

Abdulsalam reiterated that humanitarian situation is urgent priority, and we will not start from scratch with any UN envoy.”
