HADRAMOUT, June 7 (YPA) – “Roanu”, the third hurricane hit the southern coast of Yemen in a month, was accompanied by heavy rains that resulted in floods in several southern provinces on Wednesday.
According to local sources, the provincial city of Hadramout province, Mukalla and a number of the province districts witnessed heavy rains and floods that flooded the streets, washed away dozens of cars and caused severe damage to citizens’ shops and property in different parts of the city.
On Tuesday evening, a big passenger bus sank in one of the steams of Qashn district of Mahra province due to the flow of floods witnessed by the district.
Two passengers were found, one of them is a Somali national and the other is a Yemeni citizen from Hodeidah province.
Districts of Aden province also witnessed heavy rain, and cloudy weather amid continued rainfall.
On Monday, the World Meteorological Organization warned of a new storm heading towards the coasts of Yemen, known as “Roanu” hurricane.
