SANAA, Aug. 1 (YPA) – At least three missiles fell, on Sunday morning, on Kandahar airport in southern Afghanistan, at a time when the “Taliban” movement continues its comprehensive attack throughout the country.
“Three missiles were fired at the airport and two of them landed on the runway… because of that all flights from the airport were canceled,” the airport’s head, Masoud Pashtun, told AFP.
Last week, a spokesman for the Afghan Ministry of Interior announced that about 100 people were killed in an armed attack on Spin Boldak district in Kandahar province, accusing Taliban militants of launching this attack.
In early July, the Taliban announced their control of the Spin Boldak district on the border with Pakistan after fierce fighting, but the Afghan government said it had regained control of the border crossing, which is an important strategic trade point.
