BAGHDAD, Jul. 29 (YPA) – Elections in Iraq will be held as scheduled on October 10, Former Prime Minister and State of Law Coalition’s head Nouri al-Maliki said on Thursday.
According to Alsumaria News, Al-Maliki said in a tweet, “The elections will be held as scheduled on 10/10 and the position of the forces that announced that they will not participate is respectable but it is a position of their own and should not be imposed on the opinion of the majority interacting with the early elections on time.”
“Early elections are a popular demand and the government must create security conditions for its success,” he added.
