Transport Minister stresses importance of preserving Yemeni Red Sea ports’ sanctuary

SANAA, Jul. 06 (YPA) – Minister of Transport, Amer Al-Marani, stressed the importance of preserving the sanctuary of the Yemeni Red Sea ports in Hodeida province.

Al-Marani explained Salif port is one of the strategic ports characterized by great depth and capable of receiving giant ships, in addition to its natural protection.

This came during a meeting held on Tuesday to discuss development plans and investment opportunities for the Yemeni Red Sea ports, according to the national vision.

In the meeting, the minister referred to the important role played by the national private sector and its partnership in promoting and developing the transport sectors in accordance with the laws and regulations that serve the public interest.

The meeting called on businessmen, capital owners and investors to invest in strategic projects that contribute to development and modernization of the land, sea and air transport sectors.

For his part, the head of the Yemeni Red Sea Ports Corporation explained that the corporation is one of the most important economic pillars that the aggression has systematically destroyed since the beginning of the aggression, reviewing the corporation’s strategic plans and programs for investment during the current year.
