23 people killed, injured by explosive device in Afghanistan

SANAA, Jun. 23 (YPA) – Five people were killed and 18 others were injured when an explosive device exploded in Kandahar province, southern Afghanistan.

“An explosive device planted by militants on a road in Maiwand district exploded as a passenger bus passed late on Tuesday night, killing five passengers, including women and children, and wounding 18 others,” Xinhua news agency quoted the Afghan police as saying on Wednesday.
