Yemen, Syria discuss cultural, scientific cooperation

DAMASCUS, Jun. 17 (YPA) – The Cultural Counselor at the Yemeni Embassy in Damascus, Mohammed Handhal, on Thursday discussed with the Syrian Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Bassam Ibrahim, areas of cultural and scientific cooperation between the two brotherly countries.

The meeting touched on aspects related to activating the protocols and agreements concluded between the two countries, which have been suspended since 2011.

At the meeting, Handhal reviewed the conditions of Yemeni students studying in Syrian universities and the difficulties they face, expressing thanks for the cooperation of the Syrian Ministry of Higher Education with them.

For his part, Dr. Bassam Ibrahim affirmed Syria’s keenness to strengthen cooperation and overcome difficulties to activate bilateral agreements and protocols relations between the two countries.
