SEOUL, Jun. 12 (YPA) – North Korean leader Kim Jong-un on Saturday called for a strengthening of the country’s military power as he chaired a meeting of the Central Military Commission.
According to North Korea’s official Central News Agency (KCNA), Friday’s meeting called for a “high-alert posture” against the “recent fast-changing” situation on the Korean Peninsula.
The meeting had also addressed organizational issue of dismissing, transferring and newly appointing some military officers.
North Korea’s plenary meeting of the ruling party’s Central Committee is planned for later this month.
