Iraqi intelligence officer assassinated east of Baghdad

BAGHDAD, Jun. 07 (YPA) – A colonel of Iraqi intelligence were assassinated east of the capital, Baghdad, a security source said on Monday.

In an interview with ‘Alsumaria News’, the source explained that unidentified gunmen opened fire at an officer with the rank of colonel in the intelligence service called “Nibras Abu Ali” within the municipality area, east of Baghdad.

The intelligence service officer who was assassinated is affiliated with the Financial Supervisory Authority and is specialized in monitoring petty cash, budgeting, and cases of financial corruption, if any, in the intelligence service.
