First national conference on cyber security begins Monday in Sanaa

SANAA, Jun. 06 (YPA) – The first national conference on cyber security is to start Monday in the capital Sanaa, with wide participation of  the official concerned authorities, the private sector, researchers and those interested.

The three-day conference is organized by the Ministry of Telecommunications and Information Technology, under the slogan “Towards a National Cyber ​​Security Strategy”.

Eng. Mohammed Al-Mahdi, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Telecommunications and Information Technology for Technical Affairs, explained that the conference would discuss the reality of Yemen in terms of cyber security, the challenges it faces and plans to improve it, in order to come up with a draft of a national strategy for cyber security.

He noted that the conference would develop a plan to qualify national cadres in the field of emergency management, dealing with the risks of cyber attacks and the safe use of information technology means.
