Trump calls on China to pay $10 trillion in compensation to US over COVID-19

SANAA, Jun.06 (YPA) – Former US President Donald Trump has called on China to pay “compensation” to the United States for the damage caused by the COVID-19 epidemic that began in Wuhan.

In a rare speech to a Republican convention in Greenville, North Carolina, Trump said China must pay a bill of $10 trillion and all countries that owe money to Beijing must cancel their debts “as a down payment on compensation.”

the United States should impose 100 percent tariffs on all goods from China, he said , adding  “we are demanding compensation from the Chinese Communist Party. China must pay. They have to pay.”

Trump also claimed he was right to say that the COVID-19, which has ravaged the world since January last year, killing at least 3.7 million people, was deliberately created in the laboratory.
