Suez Canal: negotiations with Ever Given continue but are not making any progressing

CAIRO, Jun.06 (YPA) – Chairman and managing director of the Suez Canal Authority, Osama Rabie,  confirmed that negotiations with the company that owned the ship that drifted in the Canal ” the Ever Given” on damages, are continuing but have not seen progress so far.

The Egyptian official confirmed in a television statement that the Canal is awaiting the final ruling of the Economic Court in Ismailia province, on compensation.

Rabie expressed the hope that the coming days will see progress in the negotiations before the ruling of the Economic Court, pointing out that the last offer made by the company that owns the delinquent ship is to pay $150 million in compensation to the Canal.
