SANAA, May 30 (YPA) – Iran’s Islamic Revolution Guard Corps (IRGC) announced the dismantling of a terrorist cell in northwest of Iran and the killing of two of its members.
The statement stated that “the forces affiliated with the headquarters of Hamza Sayyid al-Shuhada in the IRGC clashed on Saturday with the terrorist cell, which was trying to infiltrate the country through Piranshahr border crossing, West Azerbaijan Province.
The statement indicated that “the clashes led to the death of two terrorist elements of the cell, adding that “a quantity of weapons and ammunition in their possession were seized.”
The city of Piranshahr is located in the south of West Azerbaijan Province, adjacent to the northern Iraqi border.
