FM warns Abu Dhabi’s rulers of lava of fire if don’t leave lands of Yemen

SANAA, May 27 (YPA) – Minister of Foreign Affairs, Hisham Sharaf, warned Abu Dhabi’s rulers that the lava of fire could reach them soon, if they continued and did not leave the lands of Yemen and the islands.

Sharaf affirmed that the Yemeni government and people reject the illegal practices by the Emirati occupation forces and their desperate attempts to impose a fait accompli in a number of Yemeni islands and lands.

The minister said in a statement that the details of which were published in a number of international reports, especially the American ones, about building a runway and hangars on Mayon Island, located in Bab al-Mandab Strait, and bringing tourists from the Zionist entity to Socotra Island and linking its communications network with Abu Dhabi.

He also stressed the UAE’s attempts to impose control and act as de facto parts of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, in the Socotra Archipelago, Mayon Island and other occupied provinces, is a matter cannot be tolerated, and is a violation of the o international law.

“Emirati actions in Yemeni islands and lands are subject to Article No. 42 of the Hague Convention of 1907, which states that” the state’s territory is considered occupied when it is under the effective authority of the enemy’s army. “These agreements apply to any territory occupied during “international hostile operations,” he added.

The minister renewed his demand to the international community, represented by the Security Council, the General Assembly of the United Nations, the European Union, the International Court of Justice and the International Criminal Court, that the UAE occupation forces seized on Yemeni lands and islands, and established military bases and secret detention centers, especially in the islands of Socotra and Mayon, in additional to a number of the southern provinces, does not mean in any way, according to the basic rules of international agreements and laws, that the occupier acquires any sovereignty over the land.

Sharaf advised the rulers of Abu Dhabi to preserve their lands and powers within the borders of the Emirates instead of jumping high barriers that they are not worthy of.

Finally, the Minister referred to the good relations between the Yemeni and Emirati peoples, which Sanaa is keen to preserve and develop.
