Armed ambush targets senior leader in UAE-backed militias in Lahj

LAHJ, May 25 (YPA) – A senior commander loyal to UAE-backed Southern Transitional Council (STC) was exposed to an assassination attempt by an armed ambush in  Lahj province,  southern Yemen,  local sources said.

According to the sources, Brigadier General Abdul Karim Alsoulani (Abu Qasim), the Commander of the 1st Thunderbolt Brigade survived an assassination attempt in an armed ambush targeting his convoy at the entrance to the city of Habelin in Lahj province.

The sources said that several of  his companions were wounded in the ambush that targeted the commander while was on his way from Dhalea to Aden .
