Senior leader loyal to Islah Party killed in Marib

MARIB, May 23 (YPA) – A senior leader in the Saudi-backed Islah Party was killed on Saturday in Marib province, according to sources in the province.

The sources in the city of Marib affirmed that the leader, “Saeed bin Hayan”, was killed by the Saudi-led coalition forces’ bullets, with a number of his bodyguards, at the Al-Wadia border crossing with Saudi Arabia, while he was returning from Egypt.

The sources clarified that a military unit of the coalition forces at Al-Wadiah land crossing pursued and opened fire towards bin Hayan’s convoy, in the crossing, which is linking the province of Hadramout and Marib.

The coalition forces killed Saeed bin Hayan and his companions under the pretext of smuggling drugs,the sources added.

The killed, Saeed bin Hayan, led an security campaign on June 30, 2020, with the leader of the Islah militia, “Salem Samran”, against Subayyan family in Marib city, killing Sheikh Mohsen Subayyan and 8 others of his family, including children.
