Complaint filed against Israel before ICC for bombing media outlets in Gaza

PARIS, May 17 (YPA) – “Reporters Without Borders” organization has filed a complaint with the International Criminal Court (ICC), after Israeli raids targeted a building housing offices for international media outlets.

The organization considered that this targeting may amount to “war crimes”, according to what a spokesperson for the organization said to AFP (Agence France-Presse).

“The headquarters of 23 local and international media outlets were destroyed after they were targeted by Israeli strikes,” the complaint states, referring to the bombing of the offices of Palestinian and foreign media outlets.

On Saturday morning, Israeli missiles destroyed a 13-storey building that housed the offices of the American “Associated Press” and the Qatari “Al-Jazeera” news channel.

The organization called on the court’s public prosecutor to include the events of recent days in the investigation that was opened in March into crimes believed to have been committed in the Palestinian territories.
