Rouhani says agreement reached to lift all sanctions on Tehran

TEHRAN, May 08 (YPA) – Iranian President Hassan Rouhani announced on Saturday that it was agreed to lift almost all sanctions on Tehran, noting that the Vienna negotiations are continuing to discuss some details.

During a meeting with officials at the Ministry of Health, Rouhani said: “The Americans and Europeans are aware that they have no choice but to lift sanctions and return to the nuclear agreement, and they announced this frankly.”

“We are looking forward to lifting the sanctions before the end of the current government’s life,” he added.

He continued, saying “The enemy imposed wide-ranging sanctions on our country to make Iran suffer from famine and chaos, but with the efforts of officials in the country and despite the high prices that occurred and the pressure on the citizen, we did not allow a famine to happen in the country.”
