SANAA, May 06 (YPA) – The General Authority for Zakat launched on Thursday a project to distribute cash assistance to the handicapped in the Capital Sanaa and provinces, with a value of 150 million riyal, in coordination with the Disabled Welfare and Rehabilitation Fund.
Member of the Supreme Political Council, Sultan Al-Same’i, referred to the importance of the project, which aims to support more than 10 thousand beneficiaries of the handicapped, as they are one of the Zakat fields.
At the inauguration, Al-Same’i praised the projects of the Zakat Authority and the Fund during the last period.
Chairman of the General Authority for Zakat, Sheikh Shamsan Abu Nashtan, explained that the project targets 10 thousand beneficiaries of the handicapped and those with special needs, at a total cost of 150 million riyals, as one of the important segments of society.
Abu Nasthan affirmed that the Zakat Authority would support the disabled and give them great attention through including them in zakat projects during the coming period, whether in economic empowerment area or others.
