SANAA, May 01 (YPA) – Saudi authorities closed Jeddah International Airport on Saturday to air traffic after explosions occurred in the coastal city in the west of the kingdom.
Air traffic tracking centers showed Jeddah airport closed to flights and diverted these flights to alternative airports, while activists and local residents confirmed that violent explosions were heard. These explosions believed to be caused by attacks from Yemen.
Moreover, The Saudi Ministry of Defense announced on Saturday morning that the Yemeni army and popular committees had attacked the port of Jeddah in the southwest of the country.
The Saudi Ministry of Defense confirmed the attack, claiming that the enemy air target towards Jeddah had been intercepted and destroyed.
So far, Yemeni military officials have not reacted to the attack.
