Sanaa forces control new strategic sites in vicinity of Marib Dam

MARIB, April 15 (YPA) – Fighting renewed on Wednesday between Sanaa forces on one side and the Saudi-led coalition forces backed by Al-Qaeda elements on the other west of Marib city.

Local sources in Marib told Yemeni Press Agency that the army forces backed by the popular committees (Sanaa forces) launched an offensive operation targeting the sites of the coalition forces and Al-Qaeda in “Al-Balaq Al-Qibli” areas, northeast of Marib Dam.

The sources added that the army and committees were able to control a strategic location of the coalition forces and Al-Qaeda in west of Al-Balaq Al-Qibli mountain and another strategic location in the “Al-Balaq Al-Awsat” area.

The same sources confirmed that the coalition artillery bombed western Al-Balaq Al-Qibli in an attempt to stop the advance of the Sanaa forces, which continued to advance.
