Iran rejects Saudi Arabia’s participation in nuclear deal negotiations

TEHRAN, April 05 (YPA) – Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Said Khatibzadeh on Monday expressed his country’s regret for Riyadh’s inability to conduct a dialogue with Tehran without forces from outside the region.

This came is in response to Saudi Arabia’s request to participate in the negotiations between Iran and the 4 + 1 countries regarding the nuclear deal.

“Riyadh still looks at the capitals of countries outside our region,” Khatibzadeh said, adding that Saudi Arabia’s position on the nuclear deal is known and that it played a sabotaging role in 2015 negotiations.

However, he welcomed any Saudi decision on the kingdom’s readiness for a regional dialogue within the region.
