Turkey, NATO conduct joint military naval exercise
ANKARA, April 04 (YPA) – The Turkish Ministry of Defense announced, in a statement issued on Sunday, the implementation of a joint transit exercise with ‘the Standing NATO Maritime Group 2″ (SNMG2).
According to the statement, the exercise took place last Tuesday, with the participation of Turkish, Spanish and Romanian frigates.
The ministry also published pictures of the exercise, while it did not provide fuller details about the location of the exercises, according to Anadolu Agency.
Turkey is the second most important and powerful country in the structure of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO), and it carries out many responsibilities for the sake of achieving security and peace for the countries of the alliance, especially in the Middle East and Eastern Europe.
