Sea navigation in Egyptian Suez Canal resumed

CAIRO, March 29 (YPA) -The Egyptian Suez Canal Authority announced, in a statement Monday, the floatation of the huge container ship “Ever Given”, which blocked the Suez Canal for nearly a week.

The Authority said that navigation traffic in the waterway will resume.

For his part, the advisor to the Egyptian President for the Suez Canal and Ports Authority, Mohab Mamish, said in a statement to “Al-Youm Al-Sabea” website that the ship is now completely in the water after moving it from its position, confirming that the canal is now completely open.

According to Mamish, the ship would undergo a comprehensive technical examination in the coming hours, until it obtains approval of movement and traffic.
