Dozens of Palestinians injured during clashes with enemy forces in Nablus

SANAA, March 23 (YPA) – Violent clashes erupted early Tuesday as Palestinians confronted the incursion of Israeli enemy forces into Jabal al-Arma in the town of Beita, south of Nablus, in the north of the occupied West Bank.

Safa news agency reported that enemy forces backed by vehicles besieged Jabal al-Arma after midnight, amid heavy gunfire, gas bombs and sound, and expelled journalists from the area.

Witnesses said that more than 20 military vehicles accompanied by a military bulldozer and a helicopter flew into the area and the soldiers asked the protesters to leave.

A young man was hit by a rubber bullet and several injuries were recorded with tear gas during the violent clashes.

Yesterday, hundreds of citizens went to Jabal al-Arma in response to calls by activists to confront the settlers, who announced their intention to storm the mountain today.

The Zionist enemy and the settlers are seeking to seize this 840-meter-high strategic mountain, with Canaanite monuments more than 5,000 years old at its top.

In March last year, Jabal al-Arma witnessed violent clashes with the occupying forces, at which time two young men were killed and dozens injured.
