Yemeni fishermen in Socotra declare general strike for sale of fish to UAE Foundation

SOCORTA, March 17 (YPA) – Dozens of Yemeni fishermen on the island of Socotra began an open-ended strike selling their fish crops to the UAE’s Khalifa establishment of “Prime” factory for fish.

According to sources, the fishermen said that the general strike came due to the high prices of fish in the local market, which caused the island’s residents to be deprived of buying fish.

The fishermen indicated that the strike began today in response to repeated complaints by citizens, who are unable to buy fish from the local market, as the factory imposes high prices on the sons of the province.
