Armed ambush targets coalition reinforcements between Hadramout, Marib

MARIB, March 16 (YPA) – A military convoy of the Saudi-led coalition forces was ambushed on Monday night on Al-Abr road between Marib and Hadramout provinces, informed sources reported on Tuesday.

The sources indicated that the military convoy consisted of 30 locomotives carrying tanks and armored vehicles, as well as and troop carriers loaded with fighters from Islah Party and Al-Qaeda militants coming from Sayoun city of Hadramout and heading to fronts of Marib city.

The military convoy was attacked by improvised explosive devices and R.P.G. shells, which destroyed five locomotives and three military vehicles, the sources added.

No party has yet claimed responsibility for the attack.
