Iran publishes photos for its targeted ship at the eastern Mediterranean

SANAA, March 13 (YPA) – Iranian media released photos for the Iranian cargo ship that was recently targeted by a missile in the eastern Mediterranean.

The Iranian Maritime Corporation earlier confirmed that its merchant ship had been attacked and describe it by a “terrorist” in the Mediterranean last Wednesday.

Ali Ghiasian, spokesman for the Iranian Shipping Company, said on Friday that part of the Shahr-e Kord cargo ship was damaged in the terrorist attack in the international waters of the Mediterranean sea,

He added that after the explosive object hit the ship, a small fire broke out where the explosion took place, which was immediately put out by the timely efforts of the ship’s commander and crew, and no crew was injured.

The Persian-speaking newspaper The Independent reported that “the ship was hit by a potentially air-to-ground missile while sailing in the eastern Mediterranean near Syrian territorial waters.”
