HADRAMOUT, March 10 (YPA) – A large campaign of arrests against protesters was launched on Wednesday in Hadramout, east of Yemen.
Dozens of protests have continued, for the sixth consecutive day, to rally against the collapse of services in the governorate.
According to local sources in the city, the “First Military Region” militia, arrested 20 participants in the angry protests and took them to prisons.
The sources explained that the protesters chanted slogans denouncing the rise of oil products and foodstuffs, calling for the governor, Faraj Al-Bahsani, appointed by Hadi’s government to leave.
The arrest of the activists was accompanied by heavy gunfire to disperse angry protesters in the streets and roads in Mukalla city, the sources added.
