Russia describes Blinken’s statement on not overthrowing regimes by force as “right decision”
SANAA, March 04 (YPA) – Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova described US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken’s statement that Washington would not use force to overthrow the regimes as “the right decision.”
“The United States has finally made the right decision,” Zakharova told Russia’s Zvezda TV channel on Wednesday. I would like to point out that democracy or anything else cannot be activated by force.”
“No other means can be used to activate anything in sovereign states without their will, without their official consent and without respect for their territorial integrity and independence.”
She added that Washington should “read and guide the Charter of the United Nations again.”
US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken said earlier Wednesday that the new US administration would not spread democracy in the world through military interventions and regime projections.
