FM calls on coalition countries to admit their mistakes before it is too late
SANAA, March 03 (YPA) – Foreign Minister Hisham Sharaf on Wednesday called on the Saudi-led coalition countries to show courage before the world, to admit their mistakes before it is too late, stop the war, and start withdrawing their military or logistical forces from Yemeni territory.
The Foreign Minister also called on the countries of Saudi Arabia and the UAE to stop their interference and funding of armed groups and the various formations of chaos and terrorism that they have created, as a gesture to find confidence and signs of peace, in addition to lifting the blockade and making financial and logistical arrangements to correct their mistakes in Yemen by providing the required support to address the humanitarian catastrophe they caused it, and not by attending as a donor or contributor to the plans and programs to provide emergency aid administered by the United Nations and its organizations.
Sharaf pointed out that the coalition countries have practiced and are still practicing collective punishment policies against the Yemeni people through the air, land, and sea blockade, the continued detention of oil derivative ships and domestic gas, and the closure of Sanaa International Airport, as well as the manipulation and speculation in the Yemeni riyal to eliminate the national economy.
Concerning the donor conference, the Foreign Minister emphasized that the outputs of the so-called donors’ conference for Yemen, which included a group of countries that directly and indirectly created the humanitarian catastrophe in Yemen, were weak and disappointing the hopes and appeals of organizations, programs, and agencies operating under the umbrella of the United Nations.
He indicated that these results were not surprising to the Yemeni people and the Salvation Government, as there are many leaders of the governments of the coalition countries and their allies, who want to weaken Yemen and that the worst human-made humanitarian disaster in the world in the modern era to continue.
