TEHRAN, Feb. 21 (YPA) – Iranian Foreign Minister, Muhammad Javad Zarif, called on Sunday for a halt to arms exports to Saudi Arabia, blaming Riyadh for the war in Yemen.
“The Kingdom realized that it had not achieved anything there with that war,” Zarif said, stressing that “Saudi Arabia understood the lesson.”
He added, in a televised interview with the Iranian “Press TV”: “The war in Yemen must stop and arms sales to Saudi Arabia must stop.”
The Iranian minister accused Riyadh and Abu Dhabi of spending billions on the war in Yemen, wondering: “Can the support provided to the Houthis be compared to what Riyadh and Abu Dhabi have?”
