YACC values efforts exerted to prepare draft amendment to law of crimes

SANAA, Feb. 18 (YPA) – The chairman of the Yemeni Anti-Corruption Commission(YACC) , Mohamed Al-Ghashem, on Thursday appreciated the efforts exerted by a team assigned to prepare a draft amendment to the Law of Crimes and Penalties.

This came during his presidency of the meeting held to complete the discussion and enrichment of the draft project, in the presence of a member of the Supreme Court, the head of the Court’s Criminal Department, Judge Hussein al-Mahdi.

The draft amendment included a number of articles of the law, focusing in their entirety on acts and crimes affecting the national economy, public office and funds, and the penalties for those acts.

Al-Ghashem stressed the importance of the partnership between the YACC and the concerned authorities related to reviewing, evaluating and developing national legislation in combating and preventing the corruption.
