Battles approach government compound in Marib

MARIB, Jan. 10 (YPA) – The army forces and popular committees advanced towards the strategic ‘Qarn al-Qa’id’ area, close to the government compound in Marib city, local sources told Yemen Press Agency.

The sources indicated fierce battles are now taking place between the army forces backed popular committees and Saudi-led coalition forces, amid accelerating collapses in the ranks of the coalition forces.

The army forces and popular committees were able, during the past hours, to purge the last areas of ‘Matareh Nakhla’, after imposing their grip on the volcanic water project area there.
