Two Egyptian sailors kidnapped in Nigeria return home

CAIRO, Jan. 9 (YPA) – The Egyptian Foreign Ministry announced Friday said that Cairo has received two Egyptian citizens who were kidnapped by pirates off the Nigerian coast in November.

The two, a maritime officer and an engineer, were among the crew of a cargo ship “Milan” that was hijacked in a piracy attack off the southern coast of Nigeria on Thursday, November 26, 2020″.

The ministry said the reception came “when they arrived at home after they were released as a result of efforts by the Egyptian state, including the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and through the Egyptian Embassy in Abuja, which was successful.”
