SANAA, Jun. 9 (YPA) – North Korea’s official media reported on Saturday that the country’s leader, Kim Jong Un, described the United States as “the biggest enemy” and said Washington should abandon its hostile policies to improve relations with his country.
According to “Reuters” agency, North Korean Central News Agency reported that Kim said in statements he made during a conference of the ruling party in Pyongyang that the US policy towards his country will not change regardless of the resident of the White House.
The Korean leader pledged on Thursday to strengthen the military capabilities of his country, which is a nuclear power, and to raise “the defense capabilities of the state to a higher level, and set goals in order to achieve this.”
Kim’s recent comments come at a time when the United States is experiencing intense internal tension to transfer power in the White House from the outgoing President, Republican Donald Trump, to the winner of the presidential election, Joe Biden.
