ABYAN, Jan. 4 (YPA) – The Saudi committee assigned with monitoring the ceasefire in Abyan province fled to Aden province after a shell hit the gate of its headquarters in Shuqrah district, local sources said.
According to the sources a number of Saudi armoured vehicles left their headquarters in the city of Shuqrah heading for Aden after an explosion rocked its headquarters.
Tensions between Hadi’s forces and the UAE-backed Southern Transitional Council (STC)’s militia are expected to resumed, especially after Hadi’s forces set up new positions in Shuqrah, taking advantage of the departure of the Saudi committee, according to military officials.
The officials expressed their displeasure at the departure of the Saudi military committee, pointing out that the explosion was small and was not that powerful.
