SANAA, Jun. 2 (YPA) – The former Secretary-General of the League of Arab States, Egyptian diplomat Amr Moussa, announced, on Friday, that he was infected with the Corona virus, according to local media.
Al-Ahram newspaper website (owned by the state) quoted Musa as saying that he isolated himself at his home, after discovering that he was infected with the virus.
Moussa added that his health condition is “stable”, and he has not been transferred to the hospital, and that there are a number of doctors who are following his condition, in constant contact with him and responding to their advice.
He continued: “My condition is reassuring, and it does not yet require admission to the hospital,” calling on “citizens to be careful and follow precautionary measures, and not be complacent, because the virus spreads very quickly.”
On Sunday, the Egyptian government approved a number of measures to limit the spread of Corona, including canceling New Year celebrations, preventing gatherings and applying an immediate fine to violators.
Egypt is currently experiencing the second wave of the virus, and in recent days it has recorded an increase in the rate of daily infections and deaths.
As of Thursday evening, Egypt had recorded 138,62 Corona cases, including 7631 deaths, and 112105 recovered cases, according to the Ministry of Health.
