Military expert reveals weapon used in Aden airport attack

DOHA, Dec. 31 (YPA) – Major General Fayez Al-Duwairi, a Jordanian military expert, has revealed the weapon that was used in Wednesday’s attack at Aden International Airport.

“The scenes of the explosions at Aden airport and the crater that occurred as a result of the blast confirm that the attack was with Katyusha rockets,” Al-Duwairi said, in statements to Al-Jazeera TV on Tuesday.

This means that the launching of rockets was carried out from a distance between 10 and 20 kilometers, he added.

Al- Duwairi indicated that the clashes that accompanied the explosions in the airport yard also confirm the existence of a security breach.

He suggested that the implementer is an influential party that has power on the ground and has intelligence information, holding the UAE-backed Southern Transitional Council (STC) fully responsible for the attack.

Wednesday’s explosions at Aden International Airport, during the arrival of a plane carrying the “Hadi government”, killed and wounded dozens, including officials.
