Russia deploys additional military police units in Ain Issa region in northern Syria

SANAA, Dec. 28 (YPA) – The Russian Defense Ministry has deployed additional military police units in the northern Syrian city of Ain Issa amid tense conditions there as clashes between QSD  and pro-Turkish factions intensified.

“With the aim of strengthening efforts to stabilize the Ain Issa area, additional Russian military police units have arrived today,” The deputy director of the Hamemim Center for Reconciliation in Syria said.

He noted that unstable situations have been recorded in the Ain Issa area, adding that “earlier negotiations with the Turkish side reached agreements on the establishment of joint Russian-Syrian points.”

The deputy director of the Hmeimim Centre called on the parties involved in the exchange of fire to stop the escalation.
