ADEN, Dec. 22 (YPA) – The Coordinating Council for Retired Military and Security personnel in southern Yemen on Tuesday threatened Hadi’s government to take control of the Palace of Al-Maashiq, its upcoming residence, Aden airport and another vital facility.
The council, in a statement, gave the new government two weeks to implement its demands for six months’ salaries in addition to the previous years 2016 and 2017.
The statement also called for a radical solution to the problem of the demobilized, restore those who have the capacity to work and settle the situation of the rest.
It also called for the restructuring of the armed factions in Aden and their construction on national, non-regional and regional bases.
Since 2015, the Council has led a movement of hundreds of demobilized officers and elements since the 1994 war, and has succeeded in the past years in obtaining support from Qatar in millions of dollars to improve the status of its members, while Hadi has formed committees to attract the leadership of this council
According to analysts, the council and its movement is regionally motivated and related to Hadi, who refuses to return the government to Aden without him.
