Yemen army denies responsibility for blast that shook Marib
MARIB, May 23 (YPA) – A military official in the Yemeni defense ministry denied the army’s connection to the blast which shook the center of Marib province on Monday, according to a statement obtained by Yemen Press Agency.
The official confirmed that the explosion was caused by an explosive device in light of the conflicts between the armed factions of the coalition in Marib.
The military official reiterated that the army and the popular committees did not target Marib, the population and the depth of the city from previous or now.
The official said that the army does not commit acts of treachery and targeting civilians even in the enemy territory and all military operations in Marib province focused on military gatherings and excludes any gatherings in the civil environment even at the height of the previous confrontation in Marib
The attempts to clamp down on crimes in Marib for non-actual exploiters come from attempts to terrorize the community in Marib and subject it to intimidation by the coalition after the society became fully aware of the Saudi-UAE intervention in Yemen, the official added.
The coalition’s media claimed on Monday that the Yemeni army had fired a Katyusha rocket at the center of the city of Marib.
