Five Katyusha rockets target Baghdad’s Green Zone

BAGHDAD, Dec. 21 (YPA) – Five Katyusha rockets targeted the vicinity of the Green Zone in the center of the capital, Baghdad, while the air defense system of the US embassy responded to them, an Iraqi security source said on Sunday night.

“Alsumaria News Agency” quoted the source as saying: “The vicinity of the Green Zone was targeted with five Katyusha rockets, and the air defense system was launched inside the area.”

The source confirmed that the place of launching the rockets took place from the health interment area and landed on a residential complex in the Green Zone near the US Embassy building.

The source did not mention any casualties, nor did he disclose any further details.

It is noteworthy that the heavily fortified Green Zone in Baghdad, which includes government buildings and foreign diplomatic missions, has recently been subjected to a series of Katyusha missile attacks, without human losses, and the security services have not yet revealed the perpetrators of these missile attacks.
