SANAA, Dec. 9 (YPA) – Five people were killed in the crash of a helicopter, on Tuesday evening, carrying six people in the French Savoy region, in the Alps, while the pilot was seriously injured.
“The pilot has now been transferred and he is in a very serious condition, and we have lost five people on board,” Savoie County Governor Pascal Bouloud said.
“It sent three helicopters, but was unable to reach the site of the accident, due to fog, while rescue teams were trying to approach the accident site by land,” Savoia County said in a statement.
The French News Agency reported, on Tuesday evening, that a helicopter carrying 6 people had crashed in the Savoie province, in the Alps in eastern France.
More than 40 personnel are currently participating in search and rescue operations.
