SANAA, Nov. 26 (YPA) – South Korea’s Defense Ministry said on Thursday that the military has decided to temporarily suspend permits for all forces.
“Yonhap” agency reported that the army’s decision comes after reporting new infections with the Coronavirus in an army training camp, in conjunction with the increase in cases of the same virus nationwide.
The army decided to suspend the vacations until December 7, when all forces will be subject to strict social distancing measures in the barracks, with the suspension of vacations and visits from Friday.
This announcement came one day after dozens of soldiers were infected with the “Covid-19” virus at an army training camp in the central border town of Yun Cheon, and as of Thursday, 66 new recruits and four officers had been confirmed infected with the virus in the unit.
On Sunday, the South Korean Minister of Health said that the capital, Seoul, and its surrounding areas, will work to close bars and nightclubs and limit religious gatherings, as well as impose restrictions on providing service in restaurants, in an attempt to contain a third wave of cases of coronavirus infection.
