SANAA, Nov. 19 (YPA) – The World Health Organization (WHO) said on Tuesday that around nine million Yemenis may lose access to basic health service.
The WHO Yemen wrote on its Twitter account that “Yemen is the worst humanitarian crisis in the world- and yet it is underfunded.”
It explained that this funding gap could stop the treatment of over half million malnourished children.
Previous funding pledge conference held mid this year in Al-Riyadh could not cover the required funding need set by the UN to continue humanitarian operations in Yemen.
The WHO and other UN agencies said frequently that half of the country’s health facilities have been out of service amid spread of several epidemics including cholera, malaria, dengue fever and COVID-19.
