SANAA, Nov. 18 (YPA) – Several rockets were fired Tuesday evening towards the heavily fortified Green Zone, housing US embassy in Baghdad, a security source in the said.
The Iraqi army said, in a statement, that four rockets landed inside Baghdad’s Green Zone.
The rockets were fired from the 1,000-dar area of New Baghdad, the statement said.
The statement has not reported any casualties.
Journalists in central Baghdad reportedly heard loud explosions as rockets were intercepted by the C-RAM air defense system installed by the US earlier this year.
Journalists and activists posted videos on Twitter documenting the moment of the attack.
